Sarah Ace’d it for New Zealand!

Sarah Wilson from Ace Swimming Club was recently selected and competed at the Aussie State Team Championship at the Austrailian Institute of Sport in Canberra. The meet takes 7 states from around Austrailia with the inclusion of New Zealand to fill the 8th spot. This has been the 3rd year that New Zealand has been invited to compete. The programme had a full range of distances and strokes over the short course lap of 25m.

Recently appointed Director of Coaching for Ace Swimming Club, Paul Dowey said “It is a great experience for Sarah. At the age of 14yrs she has bright future ahead.”

Sarah posted 3 out of 4 PBs, racing the 200m IM, 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke. Her best was nearly a 4 second improvement in the 200m IM dropping her time to 2:27.06. She placed 12th in 200m breaststroke.

The recent news of an upgrade to the Te Rapa Waterworld pool has encouraged the club to be forward thinking in their planning. “We expect Hamilton City Council will be in contact to faciliate our growth as the year round resident club at Waterworld.” said Club president Edward Hardie.
